Seeing a UFO is an amazing event but it is also very confusing. Researchers have developed methods to help people classify their UFO experiences. These classification methods help sort out the events leading up to, during and after sighting a UFO.

There are two methods to classify a UFO sighting:

1. The Hynek UFO classification system is easy for individuals to understand, but does not have the ability to provide specific details.
2. The Vallee UFO classification system provides great detail of the UFO sighting but is harder for individuals to understand.

It is a good idea to read through both the Vallee and Hynek UFO classification systems before you file a UFO Report.
